The SDT announces the resignation of Deborah Baljit as Chief Clerk and Chief Executive Officer

The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal today announces that, Deborah Baljit will be stepping down as Chief Clerk and Chief Executive Officer on 4 April 2025 to pursue new opportunities.

Deborah joined the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal in January 2019 as Deputy Clerk, before being appointed Chief Clerk and Chief Executive Officer in 2023. During her time with the Tribunal, she has played a pivotal role in guiding it through significant transitions, including an office move and organisational change. Her leadership has been instrumental in ensuring stability and development during this period.

The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal remains committed to its strategic priorities, with leadership working collaboratively in Deborah’s absence. There are no immediate plans to appoint a successor.
The Board, staff and all members wish Deborah the very best in her future endeavours.
