Update on the Outcome of the Tribunal’s Consultation

The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (“the Tribunal”) consulted on the making of procedural rules in relation to first instance applications to the Tribunal between 16 July 2018 and 8 October 2018. As part of that consultation, the Tribunal invited views on whether it should apply the criminal or civil standard of proof.

The Tribunal received a number of detailed responses to the consultation which are currently being carefully considered. The Tribunal hopes to publish its response to the consultation including proposed procedural rules prior to Easter 2019.
