Mr Hurst appealed the Tribunal’s decision of 14 May 2025 under section 49 of the Solicitors Act 1974. The appeal was heard by the Honourable Mrs Justice Collins Rice DBE CB on 27 November 2025 and judgment was handed down on 20 January 2026: Hurst v Solicitors Regulation Authority [2026] EWHC 85 (Admin).

By consent order dated 5 February 2026 the appeal was allowed, the Tribunal’s decision of 14 May 2025 was set aside and the allegation was dismissed. There is no finding against Mr Hurst and the orders for a fine and for costs no longer stand.
