SDT Re-Accredited As An Investor In People

Following an assessment visit lasting 2 days in July 2017, the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal has been awarded re-accreditation against the Investors in People Standard, demonstrating its commitment to high performance through good people management.

Investors in People is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support and manage people effectively to achieve sustainable results. The Tribunal was assessed against the twenty seven indicators that underpin the Investors in People framework and met each and every one. Of these indicators, eight were assessed as developed, sixteen as established and three as advanced.

Commenting on the assessment process, project leader Geraldine Newbold, Senior Deputy Clerk, said: “This was the first time the Tribunal had been assessed against the Generation VI Standard. The process was thorough and thought-provoking. The outcome reflects the hard work and dedication of Tribunal Members and staff alike.”

The Tribunal’s accreditation lasts for the next three years and, in line with Investors in People’s recommendations, the Tribunal will continue to seek improvements in people management throughout the organisation during that period.

The award is further evidence of the Tribunal’s ambition to be the leader amongst professional and regulatory tribunals in the United Kingdom for the benefit of the public interest and the reputation of the solicitors profession.
