New Lay Vice-President

Cindy Barnett was appointed Lay Vice-President of the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal on 19 May 2013 following a competitive election process.  Mrs Barnett replaces Mr Gerald Fisher who had decided to stand down as Lay Vice-President having completed a term of three years in that office.

Mrs Barnett is a Past Chairman of the Magistrates’ Association.  As well as continuing to sit as a magistrate, she is also a panel chairman of the Nursing and Midwifery Council Fitness to Practise committees and is a lay member of the Council of the Inns of Court Disciplinary Pool.

She will serve as Vice-President, alongside the current Solicitor Vice-President, Karen Todner, for a term of three years.
