Appointment of Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal Administration Ltd Director (Solicitor) and Re-appointment of Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal Administration Ltd Director (Lay)

Bellamy Forde was appointed as Solicitor Director of the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal Administration Ltd on 4 July 2021 following the retirement of the previous Solicitor Director, Colin Chesterton.  Bellamy will serve as a Director of the SDTAL and a member of the SDT Policy Committee for a term of three years.

Prior to embarking on a career in law, Bellamy worked in commerce for 8 years, subsequently qualifying as a solicitor in 2004.  Bellamy has worked in a number of firms and is currently a partner at a national firm, where he leads the Civil Litigation team. Bellamy is responsible for a team of 15 lawyers specialising in a wide variety of disputes centred work. He has been a Solicitor Member of the SDT since 2015.  

Edward Nally, President of the Tribunal congratulated Bellamy on his appointment and said: “I am delighted to welcome Bellamy. I know he will quickly settle into the role and will offer considerable experience and new perspectives to our work as a Board, so there is much to which we can look forward.”

Bellamy said, on hearing of his election: “I am delighted to be elected by my fellow Members and I look forward to supporting the Board, the Members and ultimately the profession in maintaining the highly respected reputation that the SDT has.”

Martin Hallam, who has been a Lay Director of the SDTAL and a member of the SDT Policy Committee since 2018 was re-elected for a second and final term of office. On hearing of Martin’s re-appointment Edward Nally commented “Congratulations to Martin on his successful re appointment to the Board. We can continue to draw on his considerable experience with the Board for this second term , so I look forward to that.”
