Alison Banks Re-elected For Second Term As Solicitor Vice-President
Alison Banks, Solicitor Member, has been re-elected by the SDT membership to serve as SDT Solicitor Vice-President for a second, and final, term of 3 years. The term commences on 13 May 2018 and will expire on 12 May 2021. Alison will also serve as a director on the SDTAL Board and as a member of the SDT’s Policy Committee.
Edward Nally, President of the SDT, congratulated Alison on her re-election, and commented:
‘I look forward to working with Alison again as the Tribunal moves forward in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. Alison has shown in her work on the Board to date a thoughtful and mature approach. She has been a great source of advice and support to me as well, and for that I am very grateful indeed.’
Alison expressed herself to be:
‘delighted to be reappointed for a second term to serve as Vice-President. I would like to thank everyone for their support. We are facing a time of difficult decisions and change. I will use all the knowledge and experience I have gained to ensure the Tribunal remains not only efficient and effective but also as a leader in professional regulation.’
Alison was admitted as a Solicitor in 1993, and has been a Solicitor Member of the SDT since 2006. She is based in the North-East of England. Alison has served as a Crown Prosecutor, and as a partner in a high street practice specializing in personal injury and general litigation. Alison now concentrates exclusively on criminal defence litigation, which includes acting as a Duty Solicitor. Alison has experience from outside the legal disciplinary and regulatory sector, as a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy.
